Desire and Personal Responsibility in Prognosis
This portion of the Prognosis-O-Matic attempts to remind the patient
that the more active a role you take in your health care, the more you
will benefit from what we can provide at Beyond Well Being.
So, what are you willing to do for your own health?
Nothing, I'm doing this for my wife.
If you're being treated at the prodding of someone else, you're the
least likely to benefit from the treatments. Not because they won't
work for you as well as anybody, but because you're not going to stick
with it, or take the herbs when you need to, or do anything else that
will help the process.
Do it for yourself, that's really the best way to do this. Obviously
in the case of pediatric cases this doesn't apply.
Can't you just do it for me?
To a certain extent, yes. We are doing it for you, and that may be
all that is required. However, that may not always be the case, and
if you're not prepared to take steps to insure your health, the herbal
medicines may not be able to overcome lifestyle choices that are causing
you your health concerns.
I'd eat a bug to feel better!
Okay, now we're at least seeing some motivation to do something that
is perhaps not your first choice of activities. Some of the herbal medicines
at Beyond Well Being do in fact contain bugs with medicinal properties.
Good for you.
I'd alter my diet.
That may help, but more importantly, you're doing something to potentiate
the herbal treatment, especially when the stomach or digestion play
a role in your pathology.
I'd give up drinking.
This too is a good sign, not because drinking is a problem for everyone,
but because giving up something that is perceived to give you pleasure
is a difficult task, it shows that you're highly motivated to see some
healing take place and are willing to prevent disease causing factors
from taking over your life.
I'd take full responsibility for everything.
For many people, to make this statement is a profound healing in its
own right. Take responsibility for your pathology, take the herbs, seek
out stress reduction or management activities, eat well, love thy neighbor.
Do it all and inner health will follow.
