Age and PrognosisThe lower the patient's age, the more quickly they're going to get over whatever the problem is. If the patient in question is under the age of 21, remove one week of therapy for each month that the problem has been evident. Instead of one month of treatment per year of pathology it will take more like three weeks to treat one year of pathology. If the patient in question is 21 to 40 of age, the one month of therapy per year of pathology rule applies. If the patient in question is 41 to 60 years of age, add one half of a week of therapy to the one year/one month rule. Instead of one month of treatment per year it will be more like four and a half weeks to treat one year of pathology. If the patient in question is 61 to 80 years of age, add one week of therapy to the one year/one month rule. Instead of one month of treatment per year it will be more like five weeks to treat one year of pathology. If the patient in question is 81 years of age or older, add two weeks of therapy to the one year/one month rule. Instead of one month of treatment per year it will be more like six weeks to treat one year of pathology. Last: How does the length of your problem affect your prognosis? | |
